Build the Turret Bot

1. Bolt two long L-frames to a blueboard with the long ends sticking up in the air. Pay attention to their placement!
2. Attach two long standoffs next to each other between the two long L-frames, and then attach two long standoffs next to each other at the opposite end of the blueboard.
3. Bolt the battery box to the second from the bottom holes on the long L-frames.
4. Bolt a DC motor to the four long standoffs.

1. Remove the black rubber from a wheel and bolt a short standoff to every other spoke. You should have four short standoffs on the wheel.
2. Attach the wheel to the motor using a black screw. The wheel will stay on without it though!
3. Bolt a short standoff to every other hole on the horn bracket. You should have four short standoffs on the horn bracket.
4. Bolt the horn bracket to the short standoffs on the wheel.

1. Place two blueboards next to each other. Attach a bolt at each of the four corners, with the bolts on the bottom of the blueboards.
2. Bolt four short standoffs a hole away from each of the inner corners.
3. Attach the first base (with the battery box and pivot point) to the four short standoffs you just attached so you have a wider base.

1. On another blueboard, bolt two short L-frames so the ends sticking up are facing the center of the blueboard. Pay attention to their placement!
2. Bolt two short standoffs to the underside of the blueboard. Again, pay attention to their placement!
3. Use long bolts to attach the Smart Inventor Board to the two short L-frames.
4. Using the two short standoffs, attach the blueboard with the Smart Inventor Board to the two long L-frames holding the battery box.

We know this entire step looks complicated, but we promise it’s much easier than it looks. As long as you pay attention to placement you’ll be OK!

1. Bolt three 7-hole metal frames to four 10-hole metal frames. It should look a little like a grid when you’re finished.
2. Bolt two short L-frames and two long L-frames to the metal frames. The long ends of the long L-frames should be sticking up and facing the center. The ends of the short L-frames should also be facing the center.

1. Bolt a horn bracket to the short L-frame that’s closest to the edge of the metal frame grid. Don’t bolt the horn bracket to the other L-frame!
2. Bolt a 10-hole metal frame and two short standoffs to the horn bracket.
3. Attach a 7-hole metal frame to the end of the 10-hole metal frame, and then attach a short standoff next to the bolt.
4. Attach a 10-hole metal frame to the other 10-hole metal frame using the short standoffs.

1. Use the short standoffs on top of the body’s horn bracket to attach the turret arm base.
2. Attach a bolt to the end of the turret arm. This will be a barrel to hold your rubber bands!
3. Bolt a DC motor to the top of the two long L-frames extending from the turret arm base.
4. Attach a wheel to your new motor with a black screw. The wheel will stay on without the screw though!

To wire your Turret Bot, place it so the Smart Inventor Board is facing you:

• The motor on your right is M1.
• The motor on your left is M2.
• Attach the motors to their respective spots on the Smart Inventor Board (M1, M2, M3, and M4 are all marked).
• Make sure that the red wires are the in the negative position (facing the inside) and that the black wires are in the positive position (facing the outside)!
