Sumo Competition Rules

The field is a 48″ x 48″ white surface. Inside is a circle with a 40″ diameter bordered by black eletrical tape. The tape is 0.75″ thick. Yours should look similar to the picture below:

• Robots should be built with the Smart Inventor Board.
• The size limit for your Sumo Bot is 8.5″ x 8.5″, width by length. Your robot cannot go outside of that size limit at any time during the match!
• There is no height limit (woohoo!).
• Only two motors may be used on the robot.
• The robot must be autonomous — it should not be remote controlled.
• The robot cannot exceed 1.5 pounds in weight.
• The robot must buzz within the first five seconds to indicate that it is about to start.
